Linda Barron from the State Library of Queensland will be another speaker at the ALIA Access conference. Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions Linda!

1. Can you please give us a taste of what you will be speaking about at the conference?
The State Library of Queensland’s online learning program for Queensland public on web 2.0 technologies. Will include:

  • The role of libraries in educating clients in web 2.0 technology
  • Moving the program from a staff to client focus
  • Challenges
  • Our learnings

2. In your field of work, what is inspiring, exciting or challenging you at the moment?
I am inspired by the vast collections and resources available at the State Library. I excited about helping to educate clients and potential clients about how to access, interpret and use resources.

3. If you will be visiting Brisbane for the first time, what are you looking forward to the most? If you are a local or know Brisbane well, please share your favourite thing to do or place to visit in Brisbane.
I live in Brisbane and I love food! If you want to know where to eat in Brisbane from cheap to expensive come and see me and I will help you out.

4. What is the best experience you have ever had at a library conference?
This is my first library conference!

    And I forgot to say that the Brisbane Writers Festival is on at this time. It is held at the State Library and there is heaps to do. Check it out!
