Exhibitor Profile: Springer

by

James Mercer from Springer is getting ready to head to Brisbane in September.

1. Can you please give us a taste or teaser of what you will be displaying / presenting at the conference exhibition? Do you have any new products or services you will be launching at the conference?
We’ll be showcasing Springer eBook Collections, the largest collection of electronic books of any publisher and also SpringerImages, Springer’s innovative new image database product.

 2. In your field of work, what is inspiring, exciting or challenging you at the moment?
Spreading the word about the benefits of Springer’s eBook model. Working with new usage statistics analysis tools to provide customers with more insight into their library users behaviour and information needs.

3. If you will be visiting Brisbane for the first time, what are you looking forward to the most? If you are a local or know Brisbane well, please share your favourite thing to do or place to visit in Brisbane.
If there is time, some record shopping at Butter Beats is always a must for me on a trip to Brisbane.  I always enjoy a ride on the Citycat on a sunny day (simple things…) and a walk through the streets beach down South Bank to the excellent State Art Galleries and State Library.

4. What is the best experience you have ever had at a library conference?
Engaging with customers and the latest developments and initiatives in the industry, thereby becoming reenergised about work, is always an edifying experience.
